Wefapress® one year after the fire - from the development of a rebuild

Sunday, 03 July 2022, will be the first anniversary of the major fire at Wefapress®. An anniversary? Not in the true sense of the word! But stop for a moment: we are still here! We are rethinking and rebuilding everything. We continue to receive great support. We have the greatest team in the world! So, something to celebrate after all? At least to appreciate!

New production machines for Wefapress®

Finally - room for new machines! After an astonishingly fast process in which more than 750 tons of scrap have been neatly separated according to recyclable materials, the way is finally clear for the step-by-step installation of a new machine park. One thing is already certain: it will be more modern, more digital and more powerful than ever.

Fascinating material – safe to use: the white antistatic plastic PharmaStat

A material that meets the highest standards of quality, hygiene and process reliability and also stands out visually from the competition: our new PharmaStat is the perfect choice if you have to avoid static discharge and want to ensure for safe, efficient production. What is more: antistatic plastics are usually only available in black or gray. PharmaStat in signal white is strikingly different, so it gives you more creative possibilities too.

A plastic curling rink for the outdoor grounds of the JugendCampus in Vreden!

The weather was a bit hazy and the Campus was officially still closed when our boss Gerrit Beck met Markus Funke from the JugendCampus in January 2020 for an appointment on location. The occasion: the joint viewing of a gift from Wefapress® - a synthetic plastic curling rink complete with accessories. To date it had served as a test rink at Wefapress® and had delivered decent results.

125 years of Wefapress®: an anniversary that deserves to be celebrated – though in a somewhat different way given the circumstances!

Founded in 1895 as Pickerfabrik Westfalia, Wefapress® marks its 125th anniversary in 2020 – an eventful history, to be celebrated in eventful times. Given the current situation we intend to do so with the necessary distance: we take you on a trip through our history and give you a glimpse behind doors that are otherwise closed – by means of posts on our social media channels.

Well-deserved retirement from sales with successor ready to get started

Sales consultant Franz-Josef Verwohlt is virtually an institution unto himself at Wefapress®: in January he takes up his well-deserved retirement after almost 50 years. Since the 1970s he has successfully built up the sales regions of Hesse, Benelux and the UK, developing them as a market for engineering plastics in industry. His successor will be Pirkko Schwanekamp, who has been a member of the Wefapress® team for several years.

An apprenticeship in Dublin - a great experience.

At the Berufskolleg Wirtschaft und Verwaltung Ahaus opportunities for apprenticeships abroad are regularly presented to vocational school students. Kristina, Wefapress-APPRENTICE in her 2nd year of training as an industrial clerk, was really impressed! After an information session where she learned all about host families and employers in different countries, she chose Dublin!

The Wefapress® “screw machine” at the hands-on conveyor technology museum!

What does conveyor technology have to do with screws made of plastic and what can we learn from a screw machine? At the hands-on conveyor technology museum in Sinsheim (Erlebnismuseum Fördertechnik), a Wefapress® trade show exhibit has recently been put on show which helps people understand the principle of conveyor technology …

Wefapress donates circular table saw to "Mit Hand und Herz" volunteers

Flamingos are the secret stars in the Zwillbrocker Venn nature reserve, and they have also been a permanent feature in the Vreden cityscape since 2017. The difference: In one case, they are very lively, and in the other they are popular decorative figures made of wood and steel. Dedicated artisans from the "Mit Hand und Herz" club craft the wooden bodies with great attention to detail. To make their work even easier in the future, Wefapress from Vreden has donated a circular table saw.

Wefapress turns its focus to food secure products

There are 885 source materials listed on the current Union list of monomers and additives authorised by the EU. Only these materials can be used for manufacturing of plastic products and materials. Plastics manufacturer Wefapress already fulfils the majority of the requirements with food secure product material types.
