At Wefapress, we have developed extensive expertise on plastic parts suitable for use in the bulk industry. Mechanical engineers have been using our plastic sheets made from PE-UHMW for decades. We are more than happy to provide personalised advice on the individual solutions that fit your requirements. We recommend our premium plastics Flex 88 and Flex Wear, as well as Flex Protect and Flex 77 for special applications and requirements in the bulk industry:

• For areas of application with heavy load requirements for machines, we recommend Flex 88, a modified PE with an even higher wear resistance than pure PE-UHMW.
• Our premium plastic Flex Wear significantly reduces maintenance requirements. The two-colour material indicates wear levels to enable timely replacement of parts.
• For adhesive mounting, we recommend our Flex Protect plastic, which enables mounting of this type thanks to its oil-resistant rubber side. This eliminates the need for costly screwing procedures. The material also absorbs vibration and expansion.
• Application temperatures up to 100°C or 135°C for shorter periods of time? Our modified PE-UHMW Flex 77 simultaneously withstands high temperatures and offers the customary sliding and wear benefits of PE-UHMW.

Design and selection of claddings

There are specific rules to bear in mind when selecting the sheet thickness of your cladding, which should usually fall somewhere between 10 and 15 mm. In special cases thicknesses of up to 40 mm may be advisable. Your choice of plastic is generally determined by criteria such as the bulk material you work with, flowability, grain size, moisture content and the design of the funnel.

As the world's first manufacturer of PE-UHMW sheets using the press sintering process, we have been gaining experience in fitting cladding since as early as 1958. By 1975, plastic sheets were recognised as an effective material for entire lorry bed linings. Here at Wefapress we use a very sophisticated CAD system, which we use to design plastic panels that perfectly fit our customers' funnels. Upon request, the sheet material can also be milled and pre-drilled as required before arriving on site. This service simplifies the mounting process on site considerably.
